J. R. Robinson of "Superhair" hair salons works his wares on one in a long line of folks who waited patiently for one of a couple of dozen free haircuts donated by Robinson and Migael Schieder of "Suno Contemporary Hair Design" (both Tacoma bizs) today at the Nativity House on Commerce in Tacoma. The gesture was the brainchild of Anna Maria Garcia with the "Outreach" program of the Pierce County Health Department. Garcia used the opportunity to provide cutee's with informational literature and condoms to help fight AIDS.

Members of Safe Streets, and Hilltop neighbors joined their hands in prayer on the corner of S. 16th and L streets, where two Tacoma residents where shot and killed July 16th of 1990. The men, Scott Higley, and Chris Sherrod were remembered during a Hilltop celebration of National Night Out, with the theme "Sweep, Walk and Talk" for our neighborhood, or "SWAT." Two members of the gathered held hands and then placed a flower on the spot of the drug related shootings. Left to right in main pic are Randy Herrid, Sister Laura Neal, organizer of celebration, Father Bill Bichsel, and Theda Cherry.

VANCOUVER, Wash.--PLEADS GUILTY--Westley Allan Dodd is led into the courtroom in Vancouver's Clark County Courthouse Monday where he pleaded guilty to charges he murdered three young boys and tried to murder a fourth. Dodd, who went against the advice of his attorneys, faces the death penalty or a mandatory life sentence without parole for first-degree aggravated murder.

Building which use of be called the Tacoma Building. Also from that location is the Perkins Building which was completed in 1906, and prior to the construction of the Eleventh Street Bridge in 1911. The VIP group went on a modified version of Walking Tour 2. some of the other sites they saw was the Bank of California, the Pantages Theatre, the location of the old Peoples-Store, The Rhodes Store, and other notable locations.

A program has been scheduled to welcome the Amerasian youth and their families, after lunch a boat cruise of Commencement Bay, courtesy of the Sea Explorers, a branch of the Boy Scouts of America.
