Sepia photograph of church ceremony. This sepia photograph was taken in September, 1950, with the photographer in a loft directly across the recessed loft holding the organist and soloist. Janice Marie Ludwig and Richard D. North were married during an evening ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church; the candlelight wedding was a large one with the bride and groom each having eight attendants. Portrait of bride and eight bridesmaids. Dressed in lace and satin, this smiling bride apparently had a very large and elaborate wedding. Janice Marie Ludwig became the bride of Richard D. North on September 12, 1950, during an evening ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church. The bride's satin wedding gown had pointed sleeves of Chantilly lace and she carried a bouquet of stephanotis and white orchids. There are eight attendants, all dressed similarly in sleeveless white tulle with transparent stoles; Marjorie Ludwig was her cousin's maid of honor. The young women are beautifully dressed in scoop neck, claret red velveteen gowns with narrow bertha collars and elbow-length gloves, and carry long stemmed beribboned roses. The former Jacqueline Brown married College of Puget Sound student David Keller on October 7, 1950. The bride, wearing a pearl necklace, is dressed in a lovely ankle length gown of white French imported lace over net. She has a fingertip veil with satan cap and wears lace elbow length gloves. She appears to be carrying a large bouquet of stephanotis and ivy. Her sole attendant, Dayle Hoegh, is wearing an ankle length organza gown and a shirred cap. (TNT 10-15-50, D-7)

A double shower in honor of Nancy Challman and Mary Louise Graiff was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Horjes in August, 1950. Barbara Horjes and Myrna Juntti entertained many friends and relatives of the brides-to-be. Posed near a lilly pond in the Horjes' yard are the honorees, standing, and the two hostesses. Her corsage was a green orchid. Miss Pat Stewart, in a green suit, was maid of honor and Harry Martigopoulos was best man for his brother. The couple made their first home in Portland. Mrs. Skupen has worn a dress with a ruffle at the hem that gathers in the back into a flowing drape of fabric. She is wearing a fur stole and a hat that matches her dress. Six hundred guests were invited to the double-ring ceremony.The bride and groom stand at the altar surrounded by their attendants. Baskets of white gladiolus and stock decorate the altar behind them. The bride is wearing a white moire taffeta dress with full, long sleeves with a beaded cuff. The tight bodice buttoned down the front to the extended waist. The skirt is very full with a bustle back which falls into a long train curving out over the steps up to the altar. Miss Shirley Cornils and Mr. Jack L. The Reverend Donald Cox performed the double-ring ceremony and the bride was given in marriage by Roy A. Cornwell. The bride wore an ankle-length gown of imported egg-shell Irish linen lace, fashioned with a yoke of net ornamented with lace. Her pink shoulder-length veil was caught with orange blossoms to a satin-trimmed lace cap. She wore a single strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom, and carried orchids and stephanotis. The pointed bodice was enhanced by a lace peplum and lace cascading down the back panel of the full skirt extended to a court length train. She wore a floor-length mantilla of French lace.
