A Proud Heritage African American Family History Event, February 25, 2023

"A Proud Heritage: African American Family History Event" was held on February 25, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The event included presentations and workshops focused on African American genealogy. Community Archives Center staff recorded oral histories and digitized family photos and letters. They also recorded stories from participants in the Storytelling Event.

Al Schmauder Files

Files in this series were transferred to the Tacoma Public Library from Al Schmauder and include documentation and photographs gathered and curated by Schmauder during his time as a leader of the Chambers-Clover Creek Watershed Council.

Black History Month Programs

Includes materials created by Black Collective members for Black History Month programs. Each year's program is organized around a theme that celebrates "historical achievements as well as current day levels of excellence." Past themes have included:
