Our grandparents' house (Mr. & Mrs. E.V. Nelson) located at 14th & M st. (1405 S. M St.)
Also, E.V. Nelson and his daughter Katherine Nelson are in another photo. Erna Nelson is also in a photo.

Memories: Their house was next door to a church (on the corner of 14th & M ). We visited often, and my older sisters remember going to K Street often to shop. My grandparents emigrated from Sweden in the early 1900s.

Reflecting back on over sixty years of civic involvement, Stafford comments on her work with the Matron's Club, the NAACP, the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, and the Washington Public Employees Association labor union. She also provides numerous insights into the changing face of Tacoma after World War II.
