Bridal portrait. The chapel at Charles Wright Academy was the site of the Teckla Ann Slikas-Graham Morley Hicks nuptials on May 19, 1973. The recent Willamette graduates were married in a double-ring ceremony by Rev. James W. Bertolin. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. John Slikas of Tacoma, was dressed in a silk jersey and wore a small cap with a cluster of fresh flowers. She carried a bouquet of roses, stephanotis and lily-of-the-valley. The groom is the son of Judge and Mrs. Loren D. Hicks of Salem, Oregon. The newlyweds will live in Portland where the groom is an attorney. (TNT 5-27-73, B-4)

The new Mrs. Wolf is also the daughter of Collie Johnson of Vietnam. She had graduated from Aquinas Academy and Marquette University. She attended Pacific Lutheran University where she was a member of the Homecoming court and graduated from Clarke College in Iowa. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rouse of Kirkland. Strickland-Taylor wedding. Formal portrait of Mamie Elizabeth Strickland on her wedding day of October 23, 1965. She wed Rev. Richard Edward Taylor at the Allen A.M.E. Church, 1411 Yakima Ave. So. According to engagement information published in the April 18, 1965, News Tribune, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grady A. Strickland. Rev. Taylor was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie P. Strickland-Taylor wedding. The large wedding party poses for an October 23, 1965, formal group portrait in the Allen A.M.E. Church. Joyce Wells and Terry Wells were the flower girls and Andre Croskey, the ringbearer. The maid of honor, matron of honor and bridesmaids wore azalea-colored A-line gowns. They were: Dorothy Wells, Mrs. James Griffin, Margo Strickland, Wendy Strickland, Patricia Evans, Paulette Nunn and Ruby Nell. The groom was assisted by his best man, his brother Michael Taylor, and six ushers: Melvin Collins, Rodney Tanner, Joseph Murphy, James Griffin, John Asheley and Matthew Jones. Candlelighters were Brenda Wells and William Watkins. Mamie Elizabeth Strickland wed Rev. Richard Edward Taylor in front of approximately 250-300 guests. The former Elsie Nobuko Yotsuuye is wearing a Chantilly lace and tule over satin gown with pointed lace sleeves. She has on a bouffant skirt and lace scalloped Sabrina neckline. Her fingertip veil is attached to a small tiara. Her husband has a light colored tuxedo with black bow tie. The nuptials occurred in the Fife Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. The flower girl, Rhoda Marcia Simpson, really lays one on the ring bearer, Bruce Allan Jennison, in this original wedding picture. There is an indication that this photo was displayed in the front window of the Richards studio with the caption "What can the poor guy do!" The young couple were the attendants at the June 11, 1955 wedding of Lois Marilyn Antilla and Paul John Putnam. The younger couple were the niece and nephew of the bride. The ringleted lass wears a dotted swiss gown and carries a basket. The young man wears a white sport coat and saddle shoes. (TNT 6/19/1955, pg. D-9)

The twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Green, Marlene and Darlene Green, were married in a joint wedding ceremony at the Little Church on the Prairie, 6310 Motor Ave. S.W. in Lakewood, on August 11, 1954, their birthday. The two brides posed side-by-side in identical wedding gowns in front of the church altar. Both are wearing gowns heavily decorated in lace and satin covered with net. They appear to be carrying stephanotis bouquets and they have matching pearl necklaces. Marlene Green married Claude Flansburg while Darlene wed William Melville. A style show featuring a bride's trousseau occurred at the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club during the time of the annual Delta Delta Delta Pansy Ring Tea in May, 1954. Models portraying the bridal party stand in front of the Ring of flowers. Both attendants and the bride carry wreaths of flowers, perhaps dahlias, to correspond with the circular theme. Mrs. Paul Whitcomb, the former Janet Erickson, models a wedding gown with flowing train. Mrs. Whitcomb was the former 1953 chapter president of Delta Delta Delta. Her groom in the photograph is Warren Hunt of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Mr. Hunt is a graduating senior from Puyallup, a business administration major, and former student body president.
