Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park. This undated photograph by Brass demonstrates the stillness and quiet of the ten-mile-long lake located in the Olympic National Park, north central Clallam County. First named Lake Everett in 1856, its name was changed in 1890 through the efforts of the citizens of Port Crescent on the Strait of Juan De Fuca to the northeast. (Washington Place Names)
