The Hotel was converted to apartments in 1928. After several fires, the building was demolished in 1989. The site, in 2007, is a vacant lot.

According to the City Directory, the barber shop was located in the Lorenz Building, 1552- 56 Market St., built in 1889 and formerly home to the Japanese hotel, the Hiroshimaya Hotel, also known as the Astor House.

The white building past the Winthrop is the back of the Pantages. The photograph is taken on Commerce facing south toward the Commerce St. pedestrian bridge.
