Patients from the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic at St. Joseph's Hospital were the honored guests at a most unique Christmas party held December 17, 1953 at the Earle Hotel. They were the recipients of gifts made by an absent host. The gifts were made by inmates in the federal penitentiary on McNeil Island. The 18 inmates, members of the Bull-Bow Chapter of the Dale Carnegie Club, collected funds, bought materials and crafted purses, picture frames, jewel boxes, billfolds and card cases for the 60 men and women registered at the clinic.
