Accordion doors separate the girls' quarters for sleep and open up for joint play. Built in storage units on the wall have a shelf that folds down and can be used as a desk. The girls' bedrooms appear to be on the second floor. They have high windows for light and privacy.

On June 17, 1951, an open house was held at the new bungalow apartment court at North 34th and Proctor. They were built by Forrester and Lee, and called the Adlee Apartments, composed from the names of its builders. Monthly rentals were from $65 with a 10% discount on a year's lease. Six units were one-bedroom, two two-bedrooms, and two were furnished bachelor apartments. All units were on the ground floor. The building was faced with rugged brick. A recently completed one-story home is advertised for sale by Art Manley, a member of the Master Builders Association. It is "a Quality-Bilt Home". Located in University Place, the house featured a fireplace, tile bath, heatlox automatic oil furnace, insulation and an attached garage. The exterior is covered with dark siding and the windows and doors are painted white. A chimney extends through the roof. It was offered for sale at $9,500 with $1,500 down. Ordered by Arthur Manley. This view from the exterior of a 1950's house shows the use of large windows to bring the outdoors inside. The ranch style home has partial walls of stone with a low-pitch roof. The chimney has a unique shape, tapering to a smaller shape at the top. This home was featured in a display booth at the Northwest Builders Exhibition in Seattle in September 1951 by Budget Homes. A young boy is lying on an Oriental rug reading comic books in a typical living room in one of the new two- and three-bedroom homes in the Lakeview district on Bridgeport Way, just east of Lakewood Center. Large windows were featured in this living room. The kitchen can be seen through the open archway against the far wall. These new homes were built by Lakeview Builders, Inc.

The photograph of this one and one-half story single family home was ordered by Tacoma School District No. 10 together with the house at 3807 North Verde where Sherman Elementary School's new building would be built in 1953. The old school that had been at North 38th and M Streets was razed.

One of the living rooms in the new Vista Manor Apartments has been furnished with a velvet covered sofa and arm chair, another winged arm chair with a small pattern, a solid colored carpet and dark wood tables. Draperies with a matching valence with a floral pattern were chosen. A small nook against the far wall has been furnished with a book case and side chair. A very bold pattern of water-lily leaves was chosen for the carpeting in the lobby of the new Vista Manor Apartments. A curved sectional is seen against the wall on the right while two side chairs and a step table are near the windows. Lakewood Realty was managing the sales of new homes in Mountbrook Manor, a new housing development in Lakewood. Bill W. Tietz was the developer of the Mountbrook Manor project. This model home has been decorated in the newest styles with smooth surfaces in the wooden furniture. The bricks in the fireplace against the far wall were set vertically over each other. Lakewood Realty was managing the sales of new homes in Mountbrook Manor, a new housing development in Lakewood off of Nyanza Park Drive. Bill W. Tietz, president of Tietz Construction Company, was the developer of the project. Bill Tietz indicated this development was located on land that was some of the most expensive in Lakewood. This dining area is enlivened with a bold patterned wallpaper with a rhododendron pattern. The model homes had been furnished for the Grand Opening of the homes in Mountbrook Manor by Sepic's Home Furnishings. (TNT, 2/17/1952, p.C-12, C-13)
