Wedding portrait of Dorothy Mae Naper, bride of Cpl. James Raymond Miller of the U.S. Army, on her wedding day Friday January 26, 1951. Miss Naper, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Naper, and Mr. Miller, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Miller of Johnstown, Pa., were united in a double ring ceremony at Oakland Presbyterian Church. The bride's gown was white satin with long pointed sleeves and a lace flounce on the bodice. The nylon net insert at the neckline matched the skirt of satin and nylon net. The waist length net veil flowed from a classic headdress with a cluster of orange blossoms at one side. The bouquet was of freesias, rosebuds and orchids. Mrs. David T. Selby was the matron of honor in ice pink satin and nylon net. Mrs. Alan F. Kelly and Miss Caroline DeRosa were the attendants and wore blue and yellow taffeta respectively. Edward E. Sumiec was Best Man and the ushers were Edward Rutecki and Everett Ent. The newlyweds established their new home at 4849 1/2 So. Yakima Ave. (TNT 1-28-1951, pg. D-3, TNT 2-5-1951, pg. 15)

Jacqueline Mayna Shore and Robert Doud Martin were married August 25, 1950, at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. R. Franklin Thompson, president of the College of Puget Sound, officiated at the nuptials. Miss Shore was given in marriage by Ben B. Cheney, a close friend of the family.The bride designed her own wedding costume and gowns for her attendants. She wore an ice-blue satin floor-length gown with a victorian neckline, long sleeves, fitted bodice and voluminous skirt. One of the largest weddings photographed by the Richards studio was the marriage of Virginia Lee (Wendy) Wagner to George Hunt Weyerhaeuser; the wedding took place in the gardens of "Lakewold", the Wagner estate.This wedding joined together two nationally known Tacoma families, both in the lumber and timber industries. Virginia Lee is the daughter of Corydon and Eulalie Wagner of the St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber Company (TNT, 7/11/1948, p. 1, D-1).

Bride's portrait of Phyllis Lee Murphy. Phyllis Lee Murphy and Robert Bernard Freeman were married September 11, 1948, at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Walter O. Macoskey performed the services. Phyllis carried her paternal grandmother's handkerchief and wore the engagement ring of gold-set moonstones belonging to her maternal grandmother. Her gown was of white moire with a petal shaped collar and cuffs, both trimed in seed pearls and bugle beads. The full skirt swept into a train. Her veil was edged in lace, cascading from a petaled headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and stephanotis circled with pink rosebuds. Candles and flowers stand to either side of her. Her fingertip veil is attached to a small tiara. Her husband has a light colored tuxedo with black bow tie. The nuptials occurred in the Fife Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. She has one attendant who is carrying her Bible and small bouquet. The bride is apparently putting the wedding ring on her young husband who is dressed in dark uniform. Anderson and Niebergall wedding. The former Mary Joan Anderson shows her leg garter to her bridesmaids and flower girls on her wedding day. This pose was typical of photographers' wedding coverage during the 1950s. The groom often tossed the bride's garter to single men after the ceremony. Mary Joan and Albert Durry Niebergall exchanged vows in Puyallup on June 13, 1953. The bride was from Seattle and the groom's hometown was Walla Walla.
