The Narrows Bridge Gang was organized by members of the Sixth Avenue Business Men's Club, the Young Men's Business Club, the K Street Boosters, the Gig Harbor Improvement Club and other bridge supporters. The group held weekly luncheons from January, 1936, until November 30, 1938. After contracts were awarded and assurances made that the bridge would be built, the Bridge Gang held its final meeting at the Hotel Winthrop on the last day in November, 1938.
