Former State Senator and College of Puget Sound history professor Walter Davis, for alumni magazine. Hat in hand, Sen. Davis poses on the brick steps leading to Jones Hall on the campus of the College of Puget Sound. He represented the people of the 27th District in the State Legislature for eight consecutive terms from 1913-1929. All the while he remained a college professor, having come to CPS in 1907 to teach history and political science. He was a member of the Board of Curators of the Historical Society since 1914, a member of the Tacoma Park Board from 1927-32 and a director of Central Bank since the bank's founding. Sen. Davis would be honored with a testimonial dinner on May 27, 1943, as he planned to retire shortly. Photograph was taken on October 17, 1941. (T.Times 5-19-43, p. 10-article on testimonial dinner)
