During Ezra Meeker's second expedition honoring the pioneers who came across the Old Oregon Trail, he took time out to lead a transportation parade in Los Angeles at an aviation show in January. In addition to his covered wagon, there were automobiles, dirigibles, balloons, and aeroplanes. During the air show, Frenchman Louis Paulhan and American Glenn Curtiss shared over $15,000.00 in prize money for different aeronautic feats. circa 1912.
