Tacoma Transit Company. The front corner of the Sixth Avenue-Stevens Street bus has been severely damaged. The windshield is shattered and broken all across the front and the door passengers enter is demolished. Ordered and paid for by Tacoma Transit Company. A strike by Transit Company employees ended November 1, 1946. A record snowstorm, lasting all week, started November 18th, and all schools were closed. Neither local newspaper reported an accident with the Transit Company.

Harry L. Brown and J. C. Haley were the founders of Brown and Haley candy company. Although Almond Roca was their most popular item, they also made many other types of candy and chocolates. Braley's drug store was the first to receive a commercial lease in the Medical Arts building, the 10 year lease was given to Ed R. Braley in 1930. Mr. Braley is the owner and a licensed pharmacist, he also has another Braley's drug store in Seattle. In August of 1943, the new Antlers Tavern, owned by Jeo E. Andreo, opened at 1142 Pacific Avenue. The original Antlers Tavern, located at the intersection of the Mountain highway and the county highway road, was destroyed by fire on February 4, 1943. The 60 foot long bar in the new tavern was one of the longest in the city. Several mounted deer's heads are hung on the wall above the back of the bar. The man standing at the right behind the bar is believed to be Joe Andreo.(T.Times, 8/9/1943, p.9)

Geiger's Central Market, fixtures for Reed's Cabinets & Fixtures. Interior of the grocery store. Four members of the staff stand in the center of a produce stand filled with melons, fruits, and other produce. Shoppers is the background moved while the camera lens was open so they appear as shadows. Reed's Cabinet & Fixture Shop took over a 50' x 90' surplus government warehouse at 1751 Center Street and specialized in store fixtures, show cases, walk-in boxes and other commercial fittings. This photograph of Murphy's at 938 Pacific Avenue was taken on December 6, 1946. Nine months earlier, on March 28th, Murphy's was one of seven tavens in Tacoma subjected to a surprise gambling raid by appoximately forty Tacoma policemen. The raids, which happened without orders from the chief of police, resulted in 54 people being arrested for illegal gambling. (TNT 3-30-1946 p.1)
