College of Puget Sound taken for the Tamanawas. A view of the ivy covered exterior and main entrance to Jones Hall. The cornerstone was laid in 1925. It was designed by Sutton, Whitney and Dugan, architects.

R. Franklin Thompson, President of College of Puget Sound, is wearing a baseball mitt and standing on the C.P.S. baseball field. Thompson had a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.), he had been the President at C.P.S. for many years. President Thompson liked to get involved in many of the College activities (Tamanawas, 1947).

College of Puget Sound, ordered by Dr. Thompson. Dr. Edward H. Todd returns a manuscript to one of the librarians. Dr. Todd was president emeritus of the college at this time. Dr. R. Franklin Thompson, current president of the college, is on the right. Warren L. Perry, Librarian and Associate Professor, is on the left.

CPS, Dr. Thompson. Dr. Edward H. Todd (third from right), president emeritus of the college, and Dr. R. Franklin Thompson (right), president of CPS, are adding concrete in preparation to laying the cornerstone for the Edward H. Todd Hall, the new men's dormitory at the College of Puget Sound. Dr. Todd had served as president of the college from 1913 until 1942. Other dignitaries stand behind them to honor the dedication of this building.

Tacoma Chamber of Commerce, new men's dorm under construction. The brick work on the College of Puget Sound was started June 2, 1947, by the MacDonald Building Company June 2, 1947. The building was named after Dr. Edward H. Todd, president of the college 29 years, from 1913 to 1942. (T.Times, 5/28/1947, p.7)

CPS annual. A view of the Loggers baseball team in the dug out. Coaching CPS baseball in its second post war season was Luther "Red" Harvel, a local business man. Harvel was formerly with the Tacoma Tigers. One young man is reviewing materials from a notebook. Some of the players talk to each other but mostly they watch the game and wait for their turn on the field. A few people sit in the stands. (CPS Tamanawas 1948 Yearbook) Format 7' x 11'.

College of Puget Sound 1951 graduating class. 285 graduates received degrees June 3, 1951, during the ceremony in the field house. Dr. R. Franklin Thompson, president of the college conferred the degrees. Dr. Robert E. Burns spoke to the granduates on "World Unity, But How?". The class of 1951 was the second largest graduating group in the history of the college. Ordered by the Tribune, Ernie Knight. (TNT, 5/27/1951, p.A-9)

The fourteen student members of the College of Puget Sound Choral Readers perform in recital in Jones Hall Auditorium. The group, under the direction of Martha Pearl Jones, performed a diversified program of ensemble verse readings. Members were Herb Stark, leader, Gloria Nelson, assistant leader, Doug Cullen, Ellen Davenport, Mary Kincheloe, Helen Pearson, Kaye Klopfenstein, Mel Gidley, William Gianelli, Dale Lee, David Stell, Fern McCullough, Claudia Zediker and Homer Johnson. In 1948 College of Puget Sound had the Memorial Fieldhouse built, this building was dedicated in 1949 to those CPS students who died while serving in World War II. In 1949 the President's Residence would be constructed; Dugan, Mock and Morrison were the architects.
