The students attending Custer School, 7700 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W., Lakewood, posed for a school picture with their teacher Mabel Justin in front of their one-year-old building in October of 1933. The first Custer School, named after Lesour Custer, was built in the early 1890s on land donated by the Knoxhum family. In 1932, the old school was torn down and this new, two room school house was built. As the Clover Park School District grew, another newer, and bigger Custer school was built in 1953; this 1932 building, also called the "Little Red School House," was not demolished and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The young lad with the tie in front of Mrs. Justin is her son. According to Mrs. Justin's grandson, she made her son wear the tie for this occasion,

Dash Point School, first through third grades; taken in April of 1934. Dash Point closed as a public school in 1993. It was added to the state's registry of historic buildings in 1996. (Argentum)

Brown's Point School, Grades 1, 2 and 3 with their teacher in April of 1934. Browns Point School was opened in a portable in 1918 with one teacher, Martha Floberg, teaching grades one through eight. The exact address is unknown, visitors were advised to take the steamer Veronica at the Municipal Dock in order to get to the school. After much controversy, the school was closed in 1938, with Browns Point residents holding a solemn funeral service in its honor. Dr. Edward H. Todd, president of the College of Puget Sound, sits at his roll top desk studying papers. Dr. Todd was the President of CPS for 29 years, from 1913- 1942. The men's dormitory was named after Dr. Todd when it was built in 1948.

ca. 1927. College of Puget Sound Football, first team, circa 1927. Twenty-six players and two coaches sitting on bleachers. In 1927, the College of Puget Sound had only one athletic director and he coached all the sports teams. Clyde Wesley Hubbard was new, having arrived at the college in 1926, but he pushed his team to finish second in the conference. He was assisted by former Logger star Lynn Wright and A.A. Denman. An elevated view of the matriculation exercises at the College of Puget Sound. Nearly 900 freshmen were welcomed at CPS. They participated in the centuries-old tradition of matriculation by passing between their professors and then on through the color post quadrangle where they were personally welcomed by President R. Both football teams had done exceptionally well during this first part of the season, a tough game was anticipated. Dr. Seth Eastvold (right), president of Pacific Lutheran College, along with his wife Enga and Board of Trustees chairman Dr. H.L. Foss of Seattle are gathered together to dedicate the new science hall in October of 1947. The building dedication ceremony will include many guest speakers and a performance by PLC's famous "Choir of the West." PLC had also recently dedicated their new student union building. The new Pacific Lutheran College Memorial Gymnasium was dedicated at the first basketball home game of the season. The new gym has a sound proof radio booth, electric scoreboard, portable bleachers, classrooms, laundry facilities and a trophy ornament area. R. Franklin Thompson, Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) was the President of College of Puget Sound. College of Puget Sound was established in 1888. Their Alma Mater was "All hail to Alma Mater, The best that can be found, The spirit of the Westland---All hail to Puget Sound. Her guardian is the Mountain, Beside the silver sea; We love thee, Alma Mater---All hail, all hail to thee."
