The memory behind this photo:

I received my report card this year in hand, at 6. When I read it I was confused because it listed my race as white. When my mother explained why she said, "the have racial quotas they have to make, and we couldn't enroll you because there were too many black kids already; we had to prove that you are a percentage of white"

Our grandparents' house (Mr. & Mrs. E.V. Nelson) located at 14th & M st. (1405 S. M St.)
Also, E.V. Nelson and his daughter Katherine Nelson are in another photo. Erna Nelson is also in a photo.

Memories: Their house was next door to a church (on the corner of 14th & M ). We visited often, and my older sisters remember going to K Street often to shop. My grandparents emigrated from Sweden in the early 1900s.

Especially, since they say, like, this is not, like constitutionally worth it for privacy specifically. Um, it gives way for them to attack things like gay marriage rights and many other things. So, I feel that it’s my civic duty to come here and protest."
