Nearby is a tank used to contain liquid chlorine, one of Pennsalt's many chemical products. Pennsylvania Salt manufactured the following chemicals: chlorine, caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite, bleaching powder, hydrogen, sodium arsenate, dairy and poultry germicides, special chemical cleaners and laundry and dry cleaning products. Frederick C. Shanaman was the President and General Manager of the company.
