The twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Green, Marlene and Darlene Green, were married in a joint wedding ceremony at the Little Church on the Prairie, 6310 Motor Ave. S.W. in Lakewood, on August 11, 1954, their birthday. The two brides posed side-by-side in identical wedding gowns in front of the church altar. Both are wearing gowns heavily decorated in lace and satin covered with net. They appear to be carrying stephanotis bouquets and they have matching pearl necklaces. Marlene Green married Claude Flansburg while Darlene wed William Melville. ca. 1954. A lovely bride stands with her five attendants in the summer of 1954. She is dressed in a floor-length lace and satin gown and wearing a fingertip veil. Her bridesmaids appear to be wearing satin calf-length dresses with high collared bolero jackets. Flowered hair ornaments accentuate the summery clothing.

As an added attraction at the 1931 Home Products Show, a public wedding was held on May 22, 1931. Grace McCollum and Noel Carreau were the first couple to volunteer to wed in front of a large attentive audience at the State Armory. The Independent Merchants Association, sponsors of the exhibition, paid for the wedding expenses including the marriage license, wedding clothing, flowers, and gifts. C.F. Mason, president of the association, even gave the bride away. The new Mrs. Carreau was dressed in an early summer gown of white chiffon and white hat and was attended by Mrs. Flora Niccoli. Mickelina Retha Spadafore and Bertram Edward Corkill were married at the First Methodist Church (located on 423 South K Street) in evening ceremonies on July 31, 1948. Reverend M. A. Marcy officiated. The bride is the daughter of Josephine Jaconetty of Dutton, Montana and the groom is the son of Ida Corkill of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is wearing a beautiful gown of white satin with marquisette yoke, pointed long sleeves and a lace enhanced veil. The pearls around her neck were a gift from her bridegroom. Her bouquet was composed of orchids, gardenias and stephanotis. Mr. and Mrs. Corkill are pictured above in the act of cutting the three-tier wedding cake at the 100-guest reception held at Normanna Hall. Mickelina is a graduate of Lincoln High School and Bertram graduated from Vancouver Tech in British Columbia and attended the University of British Columbia. The bride's maid of honor is her younger sister, Merrill Wagner, her matron of honor is the groom's sister from Eugene, Oregon, Mrs. John Pascoe. One of the largest weddings photographed by the Richards studio was the marriage of Virginia Lee (Wendy) Wagner to George Hunt Weyerhaeuser; the wedding took place in the gardens of "Lakewold", the Wagner estate.This wedding joined together two nationally known Tacoma families, both in the lumber and timber industries. The Tacoma Times on their front page reported on the wedding of James H. Louie and Virginia Lew Wing who were married by Rev. Walter Macoskey on August 5, 1948 at First Baptist Church in front of 125 guests. This was the first wedding ceremony officiated for a Chinese-American couple at First Baptist Church. Virginia had been a member of the church since childhood. James is a graduate of University of Washington and received his masters degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Virginia graduated from Stadium High School and is a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital, School of Nursing. Marian Andahl - Arnold Slater wedding. Marian Josephine Andahl and Arnold Clyde Slater were married in front of 400 guests on August 14, 1948. These are believed to be the bride's attendants at the altar of Our Savior's Lutheran Church featuring the maid of honor, four bridesmaids, flower girl and candlelighters. Maid of honor Grace Cuthbert wore a gown of pale blue taffeta and carried delphiniums in crescent shape. Bridesmaids Edna Andahl, Pat Johnson, Lois Buck and Louise Sylstad were in dusty rose taffeta gowns and carried bouquets of rubrum lilies. Candlelighters, in yellow taffeta, were Delores Burns and Mrs. Andres Holt, Jr. Dressed in blue taffeta was Linda Peterson, flower girl. Marian Slater was a graduate of Stadium High School while her new husband Arnold graduated from Lincoln High School and was a Washington State College student at the time of their wedding. Bride's portrait of Phyllis Lee Murphy. Phyllis Lee Murphy and Robert Bernard Freeman were married September 11, 1948, at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Walter O. Macoskey performed the services. Phyllis carried her paternal grandmother's handkerchief and wore the engagement ring of gold-set moonstones belonging to her maternal grandmother. Her gown was of white moire with a petal shaped collar and cuffs, both trimed in seed pearls and bugle beads. The full skirt swept into a train. Her veil was edged in lace, cascading from a petaled headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and stephanotis circled with pink rosebuds. Candles and flowers stand to either side of her.
