Constanti-Taylor wedding. Wedding couple surrounded by three young men and a young woman pose for a portrait in front of a stucco, Spanish-style house. Marie Eileen Constanti and Thomas Zachary Taylor exchanged wedding vows at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church on March 25, 1940. Shirley Constanti was maid of honor for her sister while Keith Bogan served as best man during the morning ceremonies. A reception was held in the Rose & Gold room of the Hotel Winthrop. The new Mrs. Taylor wore an apple green suit trimmed with cross fox fur for her wedding along with a toast colored straw hat. She graduated from Sumner High School and was affiliated with Delta Alpha Gamma at the College of Puget Sound. The bridegroom attended Bellarmine and Bennett School of Aeronautics. Wedding party listed in Richards records as "Gustie Flemish" and Irene Holz. The party includes two maids of honor, two young female candle lighters, two flowergirls and a young ring bearer. This is believed to be the Holz-Flemish wedding that occurred on June 19, 1940, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Holz with Rev. R.A. Anderson presiding. The beautiful setting consisted of white gladioli, white roses and ivy. The bride wore an ivory satin gown with pearl yoke and a matching pearl coronet in her dark hair. She carried a bouquet of roses and swansonia. Her matron of honor was Mrs. Carroll Hill while Mr. Hill served as the best man. Bridesmaid was Evelyn Freeman. The candlelighters were Mona Mae Heurertz and Lois Holz and the little flower girls, Marlene Stewart and Carol Holz. Dickie Lyons was the ringbearer. (T.Times 6-28-40, p.9 - article only)

Wedding of Joyce Rosene and Robert Ellett at First Congregational Church. The couple exchanged vows in a candlelight ceremony officiated by Rev. Joseph Weiss of Seattle on March 19, 1940. The bride wore a white taffeta gown with leg-o'-mutton sleeves and carried a single orchid surrounded by valley lilies. The new Mrs. Ellett graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Knapps and the Washington Art Institute. She is a member of Beta Phi Kappa national business sorority. Her husband is the son of Senator and Mrs. A.O. Ellett of Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Springville High School in Spanish Fork, Utah and attended the University of Utah. Wedding portrait of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Vert. The former Elizabeth Claire Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Smith, was married June 3, 1938 to W. Edward Vert at the Christ Episcopal Church. The bride wore a two piece dirndle suit of brilliant neon blue, long white gloves, a wheat colored picture hat and a corsage of orchids. The afternoon wedding ceremony and reception held later at the Smith home on No. Sheridan Ave. were attended by relatives and close friends. The happy couple will make their first home in Yakima. (T. The flower girl, Rhoda Marcia Simpson, really lays one on the ring bearer, Bruce Allan Jennison, in this original wedding picture. There is an indication that this photo was displayed in the front window of the Richards studio with the caption "What can the poor guy do!" The young couple were the attendants at the June 11, 1955 wedding of Lois Marilyn Antilla and Paul John Putnam. The younger couple were the niece and nephew of the bride. The ringleted lass wears a dotted swiss gown and carries a basket. The young man wears a white sport coat and saddle shoes. (TNT 6/19/1955, pg. D-9)

Wedding picture of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence O. Lynn, owners of the C.O. Lynn Mortuary. Copy of the customers' print, no negative available. The First Lutheran Church of Tacoma was the scene of the nuptials June 14, 1905 that united Hilma Johnson of Tacoma and Clarence O. Lynn of Omaha, Nebraska. The couple was married in the church where they first met. When Mr. Lynn came west to establish himself, he was first employed by Conrad Hoska, funeral director. At the time of his marriage, Lynn went into business for himself, opening his own funeral home. In 1918, he built his own building at 717-19 Tacoma Ave. So. In 2000, the Lynn family still operates their business out of this building. (TNT 6/12/1955, pg. D-1)

Harry Haruyuki Taniguchi carefully holds his new wife's hand as they cut the elaborate wedding cake at the Top of the Ocean in a July, 1957, sepia photograph. The former Elsie Nobuko Yotsuuye is wearing a Chantilly lace and tule over satin gown with pointed lace sleeves. She has on a bouffant skirt and lace scalloped Sabrina neckline. Her fingertip veil is attached to a small tiara. Her husband has a light colored tuxedo with black bow tie. The nuptials occurred in the Fife Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. Carey Campbell presiding. The new Mrs. Taniguchi is a senior at the University of Washington; her husband graduated from Washington State College. (TNT 7-21-57, D-6)

A couple take their vows before a military chaplain on March 14, 1957. The bride is dressed in a mid-calf lace outfit with satin jacket. She has one attendant who is carrying her Bible and small bouquet. The bride is apparently putting the wedding ring on her young husband who is dressed in dark uniform. This wedding portrait was finished in sepia tones.

ca. 1954. A lovely bride stands with her five attendants in the summer of 1954. She is dressed in a floor-length lace and satin gown and wearing a fingertip veil. Her bridesmaids appear to be wearing satin calf-length dresses with high collared bolero jackets. Flowered hair ornaments accentuate the summery clothing.
