Tacoma's Elks Club was having their annual "Extravaganza" event in 1949. This year's show would include a short concert by the Elks Band, ten all-Elks acts, and a minstrel show. Lambda Sigma Chi and Pi Tau Omega were co-hosting the annual spring formal at the Elks Temple on May 14, 1949. Members, pledges and alumni were invited to attend "A Night in Shanghai."
