Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Nicholson Bogue stand at the altar facing towards the back of the Asbury Methodist Church. They were married June 7, 1948, with Reverend Harry L. Allen officiating in the presence of 250 guests. Arnold wears a double-breasted tuxedo with black bow-tie. His new bride, the former Ella Louise Kipper, wears a formal wedding gown in the colonial style of heavy irovy satin with illusion yoke and train embellished with lace Bertha. Ella's veil is also edged with the same lace and it flows from a beaded tiara. Her bouquet of Ophelia roses and stephanotis has many ribbons cascading from it. The bride and groom stand by their wedding cake ready to cut the first piece. The cake has three circular layers in the center with four square cakes evenly spaced around it. Four tall, tapered candles are spaced decoratively around the cake; which has bride and groom figurines on top. The reception took place at the church parlors. The bride wore her mother's veil. Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Gus Martigopoulos who were married in Tacoma on the morning of March 11, 1950 at the Greek Orthodox church. Mrs. Martigopoulos, the former Edna Williams, was the daughter of Mrs. Edna Williams of Lubbock, Texas. The reception was held in the home of the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Martigopoulos. Mickelina Retha Spadafore and Bertram Edward Corkill were married at the First Methodist Church (located on 423 South K Street) in evening ceremonies on July 31, 1948. Reverend M. A. Marcy officiated. The bride is the daughter of Josephine Jaconetty of Dutton, Montana and the groom is the son of Ida Corkill of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is wearing a beautiful gown of white satin with marquisette yoke, pointed long sleeves and a lace enhanced veil. The pearls around her neck were a gift from her bridegroom. Her bouquet was composed of orchids, gardenias and stephanotis. Mr. and Mrs. Corkill are pictured above in the act of cutting the three-tier wedding cake at the 100-guest reception held at Normanna Hall. Mickelina is a graduate of Lincoln High School and Bertram graduated from Vancouver Tech in British Columbia and attended the University of British Columbia. One of the largest weddings photographed by the Richards studio was the marriage of Virginia Lee (Wendy) Wagner to George Hunt Weyerhaeuser (eight and nine from left) in the summer of 1948. The wedding took place in the gardens of "Lakewold", the Wagner estate. With a wedding party and guest list of Washington's most prominent, Associated Press covered the event. The noteworthy marriage received front page coverage in the Tacoma Sunday Ledger/News Tribune and an entire page in the society section which featured Richards photographs of the event. Wedding portrait of Avonne Nadine Nelson and Lt. Truman Everett Boudinot, Jr. Miss Nelson, daughter of Mrs. Hazel Morton Nelson, and Lt. Miss Nelson wore a pastel pink Adrian suit with an off white straw hat trimmed with white velvet flowers and carried a bouquet of carnations, pink roses and white stephanotis. The maid of honor was Miss Constance Brady and the best man was Robert Winskill. After the ceremony, the couple left for a three week motor tour of Santa Barbara and Palm Springs. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Brott, wore a white satin and lace gown with a train. The long veil of imported Italian lace was trimmed with seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of orchids and white carnations. The matron of honor was Mrs. Richard Johnson, and the bridesmaids were Misses Doris Gardner, Emily Simard and Florence Brooker. The groom was the son of Mrs. Willis Simmons of Long Island, N.Y. Russell White served as best man, and the ushers were Winter Burnett, Richard Johnson and Frank Kirch Jr. The reception was held in the church parlor. The couple made their first home in Bremerton. Wedding picture of Marilyn Jean Mann and Edward Stanley Annas at St. Lukes Episcopal Church. The bride wore an azalea pink satin gown with a molded bodice and a stiff collar of chantilly lace, which was also used at the elbows and wristline. The bouffant skirt had a cathedral length train and the bonnet of pink satin had a fingertip veil. The bride carried a bouquet of calla lilies tied with pink velvet ribbon. The lilies were also used as floral displays for the church and reception. Jo Anne Wood was the maid of honor and Mrs. E. Wayne Mann Jr. was the matron of honor. Both women worn gowns of pale lavender taffeta. The bride was attended by four other bridesmaids in darker lavender. Louis Wohlman was Best Man. The bride was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wayne Mann Sr. and attended the College of Puget Sound, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. The groom was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Annas Sr. of Enumclaw and also attended CPS, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma and the Lettermen's Club. One bridesmaid gingerly tugs at the garter with one finger. Donna Mae Patterson and Andrew Ambuehl exchanged vows during a double-ring ceremony on November 30, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church. The bride wore a Chantilly lace bodice extending into a peplum over a white satin skirt. Her attendants wore gowns of satin and tulle. The bride and groom honeymooned in California. John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Jaech of Seattle. Lorna wore a white brocade dress with accordion pleating insertions and a low, graceful neckline. Her illusion veil was fastened to a matching cap. The Christmas bouquet was of poinsettias and variegated holly. They planned a wedding trip to San Francisco.
