"Indian Murals, Mural being painted at Cushman Hospital, Tacoma Arts, 1937." Artist Julius Twohy was photographed as he stood on a scaffold to create a mural across the 72 foot long dining room wall at the Cushman Hospital at 2002 East 28th Street. The artist was a member of the Ute tribe from the Uintah Basin in eastern Utah.

Pierce County Painters and Decorators Association. Nine men attend a meeting. The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America local union. Berger M. Antonsen was president of the local, L.K. Mikkelsen served as secretary and manager, Stanley Tystad was secretary and Gunnar Leggerini, L.P. Bidwel, and Albin Danielson were members. Gunnar Leggerini was also president of the Washington State Council of Painters and Decorators. Mr. Leggerini is believed to be seated, second from right.
