The Cannabis Corner, Episode 45

In this episode of The Cannabis Corner, the show gets underway with some gardening talk about no-till-gardening. The news segment first discusses King County, WA expunging drug convictions and the county returning court costs and fines. Up next is Rhode Island and a legalization update followed by Texas A&M breeding hemp to survive extreme climates. Lastly, the duo relate a Delta 8 update. In this week's interview, Lukas talks to Ben Lightburn of Filament Health about an upcoming FDA approved study using Psilocin. They discuss the nature of psilocybin and Psilocin, Entheogenic (magic) mushroom's entourage effect, Filament's upcoming study at UCSF and more. And finally, It's a Bust looks at a large bust in Detroit of Canadian cannabis and wonders why Canadian cannabis is still coming over the border.

"This Corner opens with Lukas giving some thanks out to a local music event in Tacoma, Porchfest. The news starts in Washington with a discussion about Pasco, WA possibly over turning its cannabis bans. Then the two discuss; Athens, GA decriminalizing cannabis, Colorado sales numbers down and Canadians reimbursing Veterans for medical cannabis. Lukas and Dig talk to Dr. James MacRae about the state of pesticide testing in Washington, the WSLCB's new reporting system and some other Washington related topics. This week's IAB looks at a large bust in the Caribbean."

"On this episode Dig shares what's going on in his medical garden this year to get the show started. Lukas and Dig kick the news off with some thoughts on the upcoming election and which states may go legal and discuss a proposed cannabis museum in NYC. The news segment closes out with two stories about the drug war; a psychedelic church in Oakland suing police and Columbia's president raising the white flag on the drug war. For this week's interview, Lukas speaks with Grenco Science's CTO Michael Trzecieski . Gregory and Lukas discuss Washington cannabis topics like the Social Equity in Cannabis task Force, a possible THC limit bill this session in Olympia, traceability in Washington and other WA centered topics. Dixon, Patrick

Patrick Dixon is a retired teacher and commercial fisherman whose poems and photographs have been published in Oregon Coast, The Journal of Family Life, National Fisherman, Cirque and others. His chapter book, Arc of Visibility, won the 2015 Alabama State Poetry Society's annual Morris Memorial competition.

Eide, Chris

Together with teachers from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Chris Eide has led a statewide effort to improve the odds that young people from low-income families have access to schools. He is also an author, university lecturer, explorer, and poet.

Hargis, John

John Hargis is a Digital Media Specialist at Tacoma Public Library's StoryLab. There he works to inspire young talent to develop, network and release all forms of media including music, video, audio, audition reels, resumes and press kits to prospective agencies. He currently teaches drums and music production in Gig Harbor, WA. John is a hand-drum enthusiast and has performed as a classic rock and blues musician in the Puget Sound area for the past 15 years.

Smith, Dwayne

Dwayne is a regular participant in Tacoma Public Library's StoryLab, creating original beats and raps. When he heard about the listening project the day of the event, he created an original piece within two hours and recorded that same day.

Summer at Peace Youth Leadership Class

The Summer at Peace Youth Leadership Class decided to take on the issue around stereotyping in their schools. This team poem represents their response to the stereotyping that they have experienced in high school and reclaiming of their identity on their own terms. Since they come from high schools throughout Tacoma, we have identified the place where they gave voice to their identities: at Peace Community Center in Tacoma's Hilltop Neighborhood.
