Fircrest's City Council held their first meeting at 8 p.m. on September 21, 1925. W.A. Woodkirk, far right, was elected mayor unanimously on September 8th. Garlands, banners, and bouquets decorated Fircrest School (later renamed Wainwright) where the officials were sworn in during a public meeting.
