The Right Reverend Stephen Fielding Bayne, Jr., Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia (on the left) and the Reverend Canon Arthur Bell, Chaplain Annie Wright Seminary (on the right) in Raynor Chapel at the Seminary. The Annie Wright Alumnae sponsored a series of lectures by Bishop Bayne in 1951 on the topic "What the Bible means today." Wedding portrait of Avonne Nadine Nelson and Lt. Truman Everett Boudinot, Jr. Miss Nelson, daughter of Mrs. Hazel Morton Nelson, and Lt. Boudinot, son of Mrs. Truman Boudinot of Beverly Hills, Ca. and the late Brigadier General Boudinot, were married on a Friday afternoon, January 12, 1951, in Raynor Chapel at the Annie Wright Seminary with Reverend Arthur Bell officiating at the single ring ceremony. Miss Nelson wore a pastel pink Adrian suit with an off white straw hat trimmed with white velvet flowers and carried a bouquet of carnations, pink roses and white stephanotis. The maid of honor was Miss Constance Brady and the best man was Robert Winskill. After the ceremony, the couple left for a three week motor tour of Santa Barbara and Palm Springs. The Service League at Annie Wright Seminary sponsored the financing of Miss St. John's summer trip to Tokyo, Japan, as its main project for 1952. Miss St. John taught physical education to the girls of St. Margaret's School and she was also learning the Japanese way of life to bring back to share with students. The carnival was held on December 3rd from 12-4 at Keator Hall on the AWS campus. The general theme of the carnival, sponsored by the Mothers Club, was "Christmas Melodies." In keeping with the theme, booths were designed to represent popular holiday songs. Christmas trinkets and decorations, made by students and parents, were sold at the booths to raise money to benefit the school's library. Each year a senior is honored by the Seminary at the May Day festivities. Miss Lombard hails from the Yakima area and is the daughter of the Harry Lombards, Jr. A special guest at the event was the presence of her grandmother, the former Aimee Porter, who graduated from Annie Wright sixty years before. Dagmar Quevli and Ensign Wayne Beale Knight were married August 31, 1952, in an evening wedding ceremony in Raynor Chapel at Annie Wright Seminary. Dagmar Quevli radiates happiness as she poses for her bridal portrait in the Great Hall wearing a French petite brocade gown. She carried a simple bouquet of white chrysanthemums and asters. The ivy-covered walls of Annie Wright Seminary do not appear to have changed in the decades since the school was established. The elegant brick buildings of the college preparatory school for girls still remain in the city's northend. Annie Wright Seminary's Masque Players production of the operetta "HMS Pinafore." The school presented the Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera May 1-3, 1959 for Parents' Weekend. The 1959 Parents' Weekend was a special celebration of the seminary's 75th anniversary. The plot of the operetta revolves around a captain's daughter who falls in love with a common sailor. It was first produced in 1878 and is probably the pair's most popular work. The Masque Players production was directed by Mrs. Diedre Monks and the players were assisted by the school's glee club choir and dance troop. The production featured Mitzi Weiss as Josephine, Gundl Primus as Ralph Rackstraw, Cynthia Fanshaw as Captain Corcoran and Anne King as Buttercup. (TNT 4/26/1959, pg D-11)

The 1959 Annie Wright Seminary May Day Queen was Cynthia Reid Fanshawe of Billings, Montana. She was crowned on a bright and sunny May 9th in 1959 in ceremonies performed on the lawn of the campus. Cynthia, also known as "Fanny," was a talented artist and musician. She belonged to the drama club Masque and sang with the choir. She was remembered in the yearbook as being enthusiastic, considerate and a good sport. She served as president of the athletic association S.A.C. (yearbook "The Shield" 1959, TNT 5/17/1959, pg. D-7))

On August 19, 1959, eight co-eds from the Annie Wright Seminary lent a hand in mortaring the new library wing at the school. The girls were, left to right, Margaret Woodhams, athletics; Lib Hewitt, secretary service league; Frances Finnigan, Class VIII president; Peggy Yates, of Puyallup, senior yearbook editor; Caroline Woodhams, secretary treasurer of the student body; Shirley Cartozian, Christmas Carnival; Laurie Grenley, vice president freshman class; and Missy Hyde, Class VII president. This group was part of a larger planned gathering for class and school officers to make plans for the upcoming school year. The new library wing was completed in November of 1959 at at cost of $170,000. It was of Tudor design, with 4,000 square feet of room to house 16,000 volumes and 68 students.
