The Chorus, organized in 1888, was the oldest Norwegian singing organization in the west. The Chorus held its first sangerfest in Tacoma in 1906. The first director was Professor Carlo Sperati. George S. Johnson served as director for 30 years. The current conductor is Gunnar J. Malmin, center of the front row in the tuxedo, composer and director of PLC Choir of the West.
