1967 Richards stock file. The Stadium High School band forms their school initials accompanied by a drum major, majorettes and cheerleaders, during a photo shoot at Stadium Bowl in the fall of 1967. The school had a statewide reputation for producing fine musicians. Directed by Jack Lloyd, the band would participate in the Santa Claus and Daffodil Parades in addition to marching in the Turkey Day game. Stadium High School's Clayton Johnson is ready to conduct the original opera, "Masquerade," in March of 1937. Mr. Johnson, Director of Music at Stadium, had written the opera himself. He would remain at Stadium for 30 years with hundreds of students under his musical guidance.

These seven Stadium High School girls exhibit the latest fashions of the day upon their return to school in September of 1935. Long, ankle-length skirts were back in style. The Stadium High School wrestling team, the 1941 City prep champions, avidly watched on March 17, 1941 as Bill Bodenhammer (top) and Don Ferris engage each other in a demonstration lock. Other team members are, front row, Gene Pape (coach), Arnie Hansen, Chuck Issacs, Lee Merz, Dennis Livingston, Kiromi Kikuchi, John Collins, Phil Rogers. Back row: George Miller (manager), Herb Mims, Kenny Johnson, Kiyoshi Kinoshita, Jim Cadigan, Sid Lay, Harry Gust, Fred Hoffman, Jim Colito, Tidashi Horiki (manager) and Sam Higuchi. Stadium took the city title, and the giant Cammarano Brothers trophy that went with it by winning five of their eight scheduled matches. Stadium High School's Annual Senior Ball was the last formal event for students before graduation. The theme was "Orchids in the Moonlight", the school's gymnasium was decorated with orchids. Stadium and Lincoln High School students joined together at Stadium High School to clean up vandalism that occurred after the Lincoln-Stadium basketball game in March 1947. After Lincoln beat Stadium, 38 to 31, "Lincoln" was found spray painted over buildings, windows and sidewalks. Lincoln students formed a scrub brush and mop brigade with Stadium and helped clean up the mess. (T. Times, 3/5/47, p. 1). TPL-10465

Jim Barner, a junior at Stadium High School, is currently the scoring leader for the Stadium Tigers' varsity team. Jim Barner was also involved in reserve basketball, varsity baseball, junior football, Spring activity manager, Big S and Bogey Hi-Y. Stadium was getting ready for a big Cross-State league basketball game against the Everett Seagulls, the game would be played at Stadium's gymnasium (T.N.T., 2/17/49, p. 28).

Although it was still early in the 1948-49 school year at Stadium High School, the girls in Mrs. Amy Magill's sewing and design classes were already busy on various "make their own" projects.
