Vera Lois Chambers and John E. Dilatush were looking at the latest models of front load washers and dryers when they were photographed at Paulson's Radio & Appliance store, 1101 South K (now Martin Luther King Jr. Way), for the 1952 bridal layout section of the News Tribune. The couple was married on July 26, 1952 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church. The bride was the daughter of Mrs. Robert E. Chambers of Denver and the groom the son of Mrs. Grace F. Dilatush of Seattle. The couple held their reception at the YWCA, where the bride was formerly an employee. The couple made their first home in Portland, Oregon. (T. Reporter 8/7/1952, pg. 5) TPL-10479

Doris Marie Holmgren and Wilfred N. Hess were married Januray 26, 1952, at Holy Rosary Church. Doris is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Holmgren of Litchfield, Minnesota. Wilfred, stationed at Fort Lewis, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hess of Albertville, Minnesota. The bride wore a gown of heavy white satin made with a beaded lace yoke. Her lace trimmed net veil was caught to a headband of orange blossoms and her flowers were a heart-shaped arrangement of red roses and carnations. (TNT, 2/4/1952, p.7)

These three women and girl, who was likely the flower-girl, stand by the table where the wedding cake has been set. The bride is the dauther of Edward Griffiths. Mrs. Kenneth Lodge was matron of honor and wore a navy blue suit. Dorothy (Mrs. Leo) Wolz, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Miss Shirley Wolz, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Mina Hiscox assisted. The groom is wearing a double-breasted white dinner jacket as do his three groomsmen.

The former Mary Kay Sadler is adorned in satin and Chantilly lace with a fingertip veil; she is also wearing a multi-strand pearl necklace. The groom and best man wear white tuxedos while the maid of honor appears to be dressed in a V-necked tulle gown in this sepia 1951 photograph. The Friedlines were married in late August in the First Christian Church.

Slusher-McCarthy wedding. The Church of the Visitation was the site of the Maxine Slusher/Edward McCarty nuptials on October 13, 1951. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Father Anslem. The bride wore a ballerina length gown of white satin with an overdress of net and a lace apron. Her fingertip veil was edged with lace and attached to a coronet which contained seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of orchids and stephanotis. (TNT 10-28-51, D-2)
