The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was set to celebrate its Centennial on February 12-17th, 1968. The Tacoma Elks was the largest of the order and would celebrate the centennial of the national organization with a full week's programs and activities. Gathered around the table on January 16, 1968, were eleven past and present officers and trustees of Tacoma Lodge No. 174 with publicity information. Included in the photograph were Swan Johnson, Jerry Geehan, Arthur Emery, Harry Lynch, Emmett Anderson, Leonard Rowan, Clyde Alexander, Alex Wilson, Harold Sitts and Robert Holder, who was chairman of the local celebration.
