The President had been barnstorming the western portion of the country. While in Tacoma, he and wife Mamie spent some time at his brother Edgar's American Lake home. President Eisenhower was on a campaign swing through the Pacific Northwest. While in Tacoma, Ike stayed at the home of his older brother, Edgar, in Lakewood.
