General Jonathan M. Wainwright was awarded an honorary degree of doctor of military science at the College of Puget Sound on November 20, 1945. R. Franklin Thompson (left), president of the college, made the presentation to General Wainwright. Edward H. Todd (right), president emeritus, pronounced the benediction at the ceremony.
