- Side view of the heavily timbered Forestry Building at the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition. This world's fair was held in Seattle from June to October 1909 on the grounds of the University of Washington. The Forestry Building was referred to as a "Timber Temple", and housed exhibits from the lumber industry, forestry and fisheries services, Washington State history, and mountaineering. Inside, it featured the largest wooden dice in the world, and on its porch, it displayed a massive wood beam called the "Big Stick". The Forestry Building survived until 1930 when it succumbed to beetles and wood rot. circa 1909.
