Rosemary Tollefson and Ardeis Harold Myers, Jr. held their wedding reception at the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club. The bride and groom are ready to cut their wedding cake. The large cake, in the shape of a cross, is made up of square cakes with four on each side of the central, highest tier of cakes. Flowers decorate the base of the cake and bride and groom figurines under a bell decorate the top. A gladiola bouquet is next to the cake table. The bride's satin dress shimmers in the light; her curved neckline is decorated with lace. Lace appliques have been added to her veil. Rosemary's bridal bouquet is seen on the table next to the cake. 600 guests were invited to the wedding, making it one of Tacoma's largest of the season. (TNT 8-21-49, D-1)

Congressman Thor Tollefson with his daughter Rosemary on the occasion of her marriage to Ardeis H. Myers, Jr., of Kansas City, MO, at Tacoma's Central Lutheran Church. They are seen here during the reception held at the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club. It was one of the largest weddings of the season which saw 600 guests in attendance at the double-ring candlelit ceremony. The bride had ten attendants, all dressed alike in Empire-styled models of chartreuse velvet. She wore an ivory satin gown with fitted bodice and stand-up collar, accessorized by orange blossoms in her silk illusion fingertip veil. The new Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Stadium High School and Stephens College in Columbia, MO. Joyce Wells and Terry Wells were the flower girls and Andre Croskey, the ringbearer. The maid of honor, matron of honor and bridesmaids wore azalea-colored A-line gowns. They were: Dorothy Wells, Mrs. James Griffin, Margo Strickland, Wendy Strickland, Patricia Evans, Paulette Nunn and Ruby Nell. The groom was assisted by his best man, his brother Michael Taylor, and six ushers: Melvin Collins, Rodney Tanner, Joseph Murphy, James Griffin, John Asheley and Matthew Jones. Candlelighters were Brenda Wells and William Watkins. Mamie Elizabeth Strickland wed Rev. Richard Edward Taylor in front of approximately 250-300 guests.
