First State Convention of Amvets. The new state officers of Amvets were chosen at the concluding session of the two-day convention held in Tacoma August 16th and 17th, 1947. This was the first convention for American Veterans of World War II held at the state headquarters at 1131 Commerce Street. They are, L-R, bottom row: Asa Day, Frank E. Dixon, John E.
