The Tacoma Art League sponsored the 17th annual South & West art exhibit in the College of Puget Sound's Jones Hall beginning on April 3, 1957. 64 entries were accepted out of the 204 submitted. Robert Feasley, C.P.S. art instructor, won "Best of Show" for his oil "City Night." First prize in watercolors went to Ruth Babbit for her "Riot." The third annual Pansy Ring Tea took place at the College of Puget Sound on May 15, 1955. It was sponsored by the active members and alumnae of the Phi Zeta chapter of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. The tea honors senior women and is a tradition of nearly all Tri Delta chapters in the United States and Canada. The tea featured a style show, climaxed by a bridal party. All engaged and recently married seniors received special recognition. (TNT 5/8/1955, pg. D-6)

College of Puget Sound students were helping place nine brass plaques bearing the name of one of the fraternities and sororities, which have been active for the past twenty five years. The plaques are being placed by the Student Union Building. The students and college administrators participated in a special dedication just prior to the cement being poured. A group of eighteen women model formals in a style show that was a joint fund raiser for the Orthopedic Guild and the Tacoma Day Nursery presented by one of the local department stores. A stage and runway has been built at the College of Puget Sound Fieldhouse for the event. This year's style show departed from the custom of previous years when they were conducted over three succeeding days following luncheons. This show took place in the evening with professional models wearing the latest in men's and women's styles. (TNT, 9/6/1952, p.20)

A capacity crowd attended Jack Lacy's Sales Clinic at the College of Puget Sound that was presented by the Tacoma Sales Executive Club over three evenings. All shows were sold out days ahead of the lectures. William S. Crean, vice president of Lacey Sales Institute, flew from San Francisco for a three-city itinerary which included Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle, and Tacoma. (TNT, 2/2/1952, p.19)

115 Boy Scout executives met at the College of Puget Sound in September, 1950, for a week long training session on administration and finance. Although the Boy Scout leaders meet annually, this was the first time they had ever met in Tacoma. Seven national leaders and Governor Arthur B. Langlie were also in attendance. (TNT 9-3-50, p. A-6)
