May Day celebrations at the College of Puget Sound. Jones Hall was the site of the annual May Festival, 1931 honoring the mothers of College of Puget Sound students. May Day Queen Lillian Boyd is pictured at center accompanied by Fred LePenske. Harry Brown and Julius Coplan were heralds announcing the arrival of the queen. Carrying bouquets of flowers were the queen's attendants Alice Berry and Bonita Reeder. Three small children, (L-R) Ralph Lemon, Yvonne Battin and Jimmy Davis, were added to delight the crowd. Booth #65, sponsored by Acme Construction Co., at the 1952 Tacoma Home Show, April 3-6, 1952 at the College of Puget Sound fieldhouse. The sign to the left tells the showgoer that the displayed roof is the same one installed on the model home the "Tacoman" built adjoining the CPS fieldhouse. The small triangular sign on the right lets passerbys know that they also install the popular asbestos siding. The company's specialty was remodeling, re-roofing and re-siding residential properties. The company was owned by Leonard E. Hunt and Howard W. Underwood and was located at 604 So. 13th.

Holroyd's booth at the 1951 home show at the College of Puget Sound Fieldhouse. The display features photographs of homes using products from Holroyd Company and built by Modern Construction. Several of the photographs featured in the display were taken by the Richards Photography Studio. Ordered by the Holroyd Company.

Tietz Construction Inc. display board from their exhibit at the second annual Greater Tacoma Home Show, March 21-26, 1950, at the College of Puget Sound fieldhouse. The sign displays pictures of some of the homes designed and built by the company. Richards Studio did the photography on most of these pictures. The construction industry was very busy in 1950, with many new housing additions being built. Most single family homes were 2-3 bedrooms and sold from $6500 - $8000.

Booth at the second annual Greater Tacoma Home Show for Holroyd Co., 5047 So. Washington, manufacturers of concrete masonry units. The shelves at the back of the exhibit hold Holroyd concrete blocks in many shapes and forms that are used for construction. At either side of the booth, tables are set up with photographs of homes and construction sites utilizing the masonry units and forms for goers to request further information. The focal point of the display is a masonry fireplace.
