Scope and content
A huge glue-laminated beam destined for the new Mount Tahoma High School is being prepared by Woodlam, Inc., on August 29, 1960. It appears that a worker is polishing or smoothing the 97.5 foot beam. The 12.25 ton beam is the largest of six Woodlam beams used to support the new school gymnasium. At 14.5 inches wide, 72 inches deep and 97.5 feet in length, it is the largest beam ever produced by Woodlam. Woodlam, Inc., was a laminated wood products company located in the Tideflats.
