Melovidoff. In June of 1943, an orchestra of young people wearing performance clothing and holding their instruments filled First Christian Church's sanctuary. Two older girls stand by conductor Alexander Melovidoff in the front left near a piano. Alex Melovidoff was a talented local music instructor and conductor. He was the founder of the Tacoma Conservatory of Music.
