Scope and content
By April of 1946 the Curtis Publishing Company was one of the largest magazine distributors in Tacoma. Their magazine rack in the Pay Less Drug Store at 930 Broadway featured some titles we still recognize such as Time, Newsweek, and Esquire, and many others that are no longer published. They also carried a wide variety of detective and movie magazines. Customers were requested to pay for their magazines at either the candy or tobacco counters.
