Tacoma Symphony Orchestra was formed under the direction of Raymond Vaught at the College of Puget Sound. The orchestra was getting ready for their first concert of the 1947 season, which would be held at Jones Hall. The concert would include Fresca-Baldi, Schubert, Strauss and Ostransky pieces.
