Scope and content
Two unidentified welders at the Ace Furnace and Steel Company, 3740 South Union Avenue, were busy putting together a large steel tank in May of 1948. Ace Furnace and Steel, founded in the 1930s by A.T. Davies, manufactured many different types of products out of steel including: all steel fabricated service stations, all steel welded furnaces, steel air-conditioned units and all steel transport tank trailers. The company's advertising motto was "If It Can Be Fabricated From Steel, Ace Can Do It Better". The company was sold to Mid-Mountain Contractors, Inc. at the end of 1966. TPL-8257
