Scope and content
Two men on scaffolding hang from the top of the J Street standpipe in 1948. The workmen are painting the water tower near So. 19th & J St. using Parker Paint. The standpipe was built in 1890 and has been a significant factor in Tacoma's water supply since that time. The roof line of the building next to the standpipe can also be seen with decorative tiles and flutted pilasters. (studio, Koski & T.R.)
