Scope and content

Group of children with violins at Bernard Aus Music Shop in June of 1937. The children were the students of Mr. Aus, who was famous locally for developing musical prodigies. The group would be presenting a recital on June 11, 1937 in the Weyerhaeuser Hall. Pictured are, front row left to right, Virginia Wepfer, John Skupen, Billy Buck, Ronald Kilde (standing between seated boys), Robert Failing and John Joyce (standing far right.) Middle row: Jean Matthew, Joanne Sundstrom, Geraldine Iles and Elia Pangis. Standing rear: Donald Scheinnell, Kenneth Johnson and Alice Stockton. Ronald Kilde, the youngest of the students at six years old, was already playing advanced music. (See A6026-1)
