Scope and content

Pouring concrete at the new police communications building, also called the radio communications building and City Radio Building. The new building, to cost $94,100 with equipment, would also house the Tacoma civil-defense operations. The building was located at the intersection of South Tacoma and Fawcett Avenues and was expected to be completed in February 1953. This building is immediately adjacent to the existing radio-communications building and would be faced with brick to match. Ordered by Douglas Fir Plywood Association. (TNT, 10/12/1952, p.C-14)
