Scope and content

Bethlehem Pacific Construction School. Finished warehouse at Mt. Rainier Ordnance Depot on Fort Lewis. View of one-story brick warehouse with full-length loading dock and auxiliary mechanical unit located next to railroad tracks and an unpaved road. Fort Lewis had several construction projects occurring at the same time in 1953; this warehouse may be one of the 200 X 1200 foot units built then with a dehumidifying system which kept the entire building free of water vapor, thereby cutting down losses due to rusting and deterioration. Photograph ordered by D.J. Wood. (TNT 2-8-53, C-14) TPL-10368
