This photograph of a Fluor counterflo cooling tower was taken in March, 1954. A cooling tower is a structure over which circulated water is trickled to reduce its temperature by partial evaporation. The Fluor tower rests on a concrete base and has several levels. According to the small sign on the side of the tower, the Fluor Corporation was based in Los Angeles, California.
