Scope and content
During the summer of 1930, men were found playing horseshoes in a tree-filled lot among the few areas not totally covered by brush, grass, or shrubs. They balance on boards for surer footing. This is believed to be the 18-peg horseshoe links opened on Sunday, June 8th, at Franklin Park. Locals and out-of-towners competed in a series of events. G54.1-066 (TNT 6-9-30, p. 12-article)
