Scope and content
The holiday entertainment in December of 1922 at the Auditorium in Tacoma included vaudeville numbers performed by the "Auditorium Girls" (pictured.) The five unidentified young ladies in short dancing costumes with bloomers and ornate hats are posed in front of the stage, which holds a Baldwin piano. The Gothic Auditorium building had opened January 11, 1922 at 1308-10 Fawcett Avenue and was a hot spot for Tacoma nightlife. In 1931, the structure was remodeled and renamed the Crescent Ballroom. According to an October 3, 2007 article in the News Tribune the old Crescent Ballroom is being converted into office and parking space for TRA Medical Imaging. G25.1-004
