Scope and content
Copy of customer print. Allied Owners, Inc., of Seattle were examining property for a proposed regional shopping center in Tacoma in 1958. This map shows the neighborhoods around the South 56th and South 38th Streets relative to the freeways that will eventually be built. These streets would become very heavily utilized. A large shopping center built in this general area would be easy to get to and possibly cheaper in price. Land on 38th Street near Pine had once been considered for the new County-City Building before the current Tacoma Avenue South location was chosen.
